PAINTING

The canvas of “Rey Zula” becomes a portal where nature merges with art, and the imposing blue-footed booby takes center stage in an ancestral dance immortalized in oil. On a rock, this majestic bird raises one of its turquoise legs, creating a strong contrast with the dark background that surrounds it. The texture of its feathers, worked in detail, can almost be felt, giving this bird a mythological presence that highlights the wild and powerful essence of the fauna of the Galapagos Islands.

This work, more than a simple representation, brings a tactile, almost tangible quality to each element of the work, creating a tribute to the elegance and mystery of these incredible seabirds, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the majesty that emanates from each stroke. Ronny Carrera masterfully captures the charm of the booby, the detailed feathers and the nuances in the dark background create a unique visual depth. The turquoise color of the legs stands out dramatically against the environment, accentuating the majesty of the booby.

A symbol of the natural beauty that characterizes the archipelago.

Ronny Carrera

Artista Pintor

Ronny was born in Galapagos, Santa Cruz in 1975. From an early age he showed a great talent for drawing, when his school teacher asked the students in the classroom to draw a picture of a local woman, Ronny's drawing was perfect, an exact representation of the image the teacher had presented. From that moment on, Ronny began to draw the flora and fauna of the Galapagos. He used postcards and religious spelling books that contained images of the exotic tropical paradise.
